One More City 2025

Wednesday 24th - Monday 29th September

We are delighted to announce that booking for the 2025 edition of One More City, funding research into Secondary breast cancer is now open.

This year, we’re riding from Pisa, Italy to Nice, France – just under 600 km with about 9,000 m of elevation. Starting with scenic climbs through Tuscany and passing through historic Lucca, this ride continues with coastal views, mountain roads, and the epic ascent to Col de la Lombarde. The route combines challenging climbs with breathtaking scenery, finishing in the centre of Nice.

You’ll need to be an experienced rider, comfortable riding in groups, and able to take on long, back-to-back days. We’ll make it easy for you to focus on the ride with experienced ride leaders, a mechanic, support car, a van to transport your bags, a carefully planned route, and pre-arranged lunches. However, you’ll need to be self-sufficient, able to manage what you need for the day, and capable of fixing basic mechanical issues. No one will be left behind, but we expect everyone to complete the ride; the van is there only for unexpected situations. Please note, the ride is not suited to beginners.

If this sounds like the event for you, please get in touch – we’re happy to chat and help you decide if it’s the right fit.

You can’t start a ride in Tuscany without exploring some of its hills. After the starting photo in a ‘surprise’ location, we head towards Lucca and make the most of the region's well-preserved Renaissance infrastructure. You’ll need to put in some work on the steep ramps – not long and not as tough as last year. This day features two climbs: the first is about 7 km and the second around 5 km. The road winds through scenic olive groves and past historic villas before dropping back to the flat coastal area.

  • Three climbs – making it about 160 km and 2800 m
After enjoying the initial coastal views, you’ll pass through more wooded terrain and tackle three climbs. The first takes you through Passo della Mola before descending back to the coast. The second, in a forested area, mainly serves to avoid a massive motorway tunnel. The third brings you straight to the hotel.

  • A series of shorter climbs and one long stretch – about 160 km and 2300 m
An early start is essential to beat the traffic. The route follows the Ligurian coast with fantastic views for the first 50 km. From there, we take some smaller roads up into the mountains and cross into Piedmont.

  • Just one climb but it’s one to remember – 160 km and 2830 m
It’s a big day, even with just one climb. We start on a quiet road and head towards France. The climb up to Col de la Lombarde is long (over 20 km) and it can get quite chilly up at the ski resort Isola 2000 (though it’s not quite as high as the Timmelsjochpass we all loved in 2023!). From there, it’s mostly downhill through Mercantour National Park and along the River Var all the way to Nice.
